Throw it back to 70’s Style

Fashion weeks came to an end like FOREVER ago and now the trends are all out telling us just exactly what’s going to be hot for Spring/Summer 2015. Designers always love to find inspirtion from the past and update it for a more modern asthetic and this was evident on the runways. Designers like Gucci, Chloé, YSL and Tommy Hilfiger were all channeling that 70’s boho vibe with flowing maxi dresses teamed with faux fur gilets and some super retro knee high suede boots.

Spring Summer 2015 Trends

The trends we see on the runway usually don’t end up being the things that we buy on the highstreet. Shops like Topshop, Reiss and New Look take the more extreme elements of styling on the catwalk and translate it for what people are more likely to wear in daily life. Plus, as we’re looking at the Spring/Summer 2015 collections, it’s an obvious assumption that we’ll see the trend translated into eyewear too.

Sunglasses 2015

The easiest way to get the look for next summer now (other than maxing your credit card at Gucci or YSL) is to invest in some trend-busting sunglasses. Althugh the 70’s is all the rage, it’s an updated and edited vision of the decade (and thank God for that) and so it’s important to pick a style that has a 70’s vibe but isn’t too retro. Heritage brands like Linda Farrow and YSL are a great shout because they were huge in the 70’s and their designs reflect that. Other brands to watch out for include Tom Ford and Cutler and Gross, both of whom have some serious style winners.
